When beginning your journey to better health, you may have so many questions that you don't know where to begin. The most important thing to remember is that there is no quick fix for health and wellness- you must make slow lasting adjustments that can develop into lifelong healthy habits.
If this is your first step on your journey, congratulations!
Obviously, spending time with a health professional is the best way to gain knowledge on what is best for your body, however here are some simple suggestions to getting started;
*Drink 2 glasses of water right when you wake up in the morning. Follow that up with 6 more glasses throughout the day.
*Prepare just one more meal per day in your home than you are currently preparing.
*Pack fresh fruits, veggies and nuts as snacks. Avoid making stops for convenience snacks throughout the day. This also saves you time and money!
*Begin removing packaged and processed foods from your diet.
*Reduce the amount of coffee, soda or sugary drinks by one serving per day.
*Begin reading nutrition labels to build your awareness of items added to your foods. Look for artificial colors, sugars or artificial sweeteners such as high fructose corn syrup, aspartame and sucralose, as well as any super long words that you can't pronounce. If you don't know what it is, it shouldn't go in your body!
If you are successful with even one of these suggestions, your body is already thanking you and you are on your way to making good habits.
